How We Rank a Wing

Rankings are only useful if you know the yardstick. We score wings on four things: crunch (does the skin hold up?), flavor balance (is it more than just heat or just sweet?), crave factor (do you immediately want another?), and consistency (is the tenth wing as good as the first?). Everything below is judged on those four.

The BringWings Style Ranking

Our current order. Argue with us.

1. Korean Double-Fried

The crunch is unmatched and the sweet-heat glaze keeps you reaching. Wins on texture and crave factor both.

2. Classic Buffalo

Perfect balance and impossible to get tired of. The benchmark, and it earns its high placement by never being wrong.

3. Nashville Hot

Loses a point for punishing casual eaters, but the flavor under the fire is genuinely great, not just painful.

4. Lemon Pepper

The best dry wing there is. Bright and sharp, and it stays crisp longer than anything sauced.

5. Honey Garlic

The universal peacemaker. Never the most exciting wing at the table, but never the one anybody sends back either.

6. Smoked

Wonderful when done right, but harder to nail - soft skin sinks an otherwise great wing, which costs it consistency points.

Why Rankings Are Personal

A ranking is a snapshot of one table's taste on one day. Heat tolerance, whether you grew up on wet or dry, even the weather - it all moves the order around. Use ours as a starting point for your own argument, not as gospel. The only wrong wing is a soggy one.
